A tragic automobile accident that could have been prevented has claimed the life of 13 year old Garrett Schaub early Sunday morning. Two of the occupants including the 17 year old driver were hospitalized with critical injures. Only one of the teens was wearing a seatbelt and only one escaped with minor injuries. The Jacksonville Sherriff’s office investigation is still underway they will be looking into alcohol and excessive speed as key factors in this case. All four of the occupants were teens. Automobile accidents are the leading cause of death for teens in the U.S. Half of all teens killed in automobile accidents were not wearing a seatbelt.
