Dog Bite Injuries

Karin Carter, suffered through a serious dog attack that dramatically changed her life. Greeted by her son's four pit bulls she reached down to pet the dogs, she was familiar with all of the dogs. One of the dogs turned on her, the others joined in. Her screams brought help. "They were never aggressive towards any of us," according to Mrs. Carter. Mrs. Carter lost her leg and suffered what she describes as post-traumatic stress as a result of the accident. The dog bites we encounter most often are a neighbor's dog, a friend's dog or a relative's dog. We all love our dogs and it is difficult to believe the animal that greets us with a wagging tale and licks our hands could turn on us or a family member. Dogs play an important role in our life and studies show we are happier and healthier because of their friendship.
