Serious Injury Risk- Airbag Recall

Airbag Recall- Serious injury or even death may occur- Please take action immediately if your vehicle is on the airbag recall list. 4 fatalities and over 100 injuries have been linked to the defective airbags. The defective airbags may explode sending metal shards throughout the vehicle. The recall includes 8 million vehicles including certain models manufactured by Toyota, BMW, Subaru, General Motors, Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Mazda and Nissan manufactured from 2000- 2011 year models. The current recall covers only the U.S region considered the most humid Florida is included. NHTSA believes the recall should be expanded. Takata the Japanese manufacturer does not want to expand the recall. Currently Takata is struggling to come up with enough airbags to cover the vehicles in the states that have already been recalled.
NHSTA has updated the list and corrected a few errors in the list.
Vehicle owners can call the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration Hotline- 1-888-327-4236

Owners should check their VIN periodically as manufacturers continue to add VINs to the database. Once owner recall notices are available, owners can retrieve a copy from SaferCar.gov, or will receive one by U.S. mail and are advised to carefully follow the enclosed instructions.
