A deadly crash in St Augustine on U.S. 1 has left a bicyclist dead while the police continue to search for the driver. Benjamine Kausch was riding his bicycle home from work when a vehicle veered onto the shoulder of the road striking Kausch. The driver fled the scene of the accident. Hit- and- run accidents appear to be on the rise in our area. St Johns County has reported three fatal hit- and - run accidents since November.

A motorcyclist died at the scene after an accident with a pick-up truck Friday afternoon on Hodges Blvd. The initial investigation indicates the truck driver was making a left hand turn when he failed to see the motorcyclist. Unfortunately, this scenario is all too common in motorcycle accidents. Florida motorcycle fatalities have increased three years in a row after a decrease in 2010.
