The color purple has a new meaning for students and staff at Fleming Island High School as they honor and remember Gianna Asenico by wearing her favorite color. The 14 year old, a student at the high school died after being struck by an automobile early Thursday morning while walking to her bus stop. She was in the crosswalk when she was hit by a Mercury Marquis. Prayer vigils held around the community drew hundreds as the Fleming Island Community grieves the loss of this young life.
