5 Year Old Recognized as a Hero after a Serious Accident

Be prepared just in case a serious accident happens. Lexi Shymanski was only 5 years old when her mother was knocked unconscious after a serious auto accident in British Columbia. Lexi's 10 week old brother was also in the car. Her mother passed out while driving. The car veered off the road down a 40 foot embankment. Lexi bravely unlatched her car seat and climbed barefoot up the embankment. The young child managed to flag down the first vehicle she saw which was actually a paramedic. Lexi's quick action no doubt made a difference saving her mother and her infant brother from further injuries. As soon as your children are old enough make sure they know how to call 911.If you are left unconscious make sure emergency workers know how to find your family and a trusted caregiver for your child. Emergency Information can be stored on your cell phone but if your cell phone is damaged or lost in an accident make sure you have Emergency Information in your glove compartment for every member of your family. If your child is in a car seat make sure their seat is labeled with Emergency Information. If you are left unconscious make sure emergency workers know how to find your family and a trusted caregiver for your child. Go to our web site for a downloadable form you can print on adhesive paper for your child's car seat. http://www.bbcjustice.com/Legal-Tips/Accident-Dos-Donts.shtml
