A serious accident involving a school bus has left four Pacetti Bay Middle School students injured one of the four injured was airlifted to UF Health with serious injuries. According to the Florida Highway Patrol the St Johns County school bus was on I-95 near International Golf Parkway when it veered off the road and hit a line of trees. Firefighters battled for almost an hour to free the most seriously injured student. Fortunately, the bus was not loaded with students when the accident occurred before 7 a.m. only 10 students had been picked up, no doubt this helped keep the injuries lower. The school board was reaching out to all of the parents involved and had contacted another bus to pick up the remaining 6 children who were not transported to an area hospital. The bus driver was not injured. The driver is cooperating with the police investigation no word yet on why the bus left the highway.
