A motorcycle accident has left a 46 year old motorcyclist in critical condition. According to the Florida Highway Patrol the motorcyclist was traveling west on St Johns Avenue in Putnam County when he was hit from behind by a Jeep at the intersection of Oliver Street. The Jeep was driven by Sara Louise Sullivan. In recent years reports from The Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles show a dramatic increase in the number of motorcycles on our roadways. "Look Twice Save a Life" and "Share the Road" have been two successful motorcycle awareness campaigns that have helped to decrease the number of accidents in Florida in recent years. "Look Twice Save a Life" motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians are all around us "Share the Road." Motorcyclist are more likley to suffer serious injuries when hit by a motor vehicle. May has been chosen as motorcycle awareness month publicized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and other motorcycle groups.
